Holding On But Letting Go

Know Your Worth; Own Your Life

Dear Ones:

Do you know that feeling when you love something so much, it hurts? It’s only with life experience that we can possibly understand what it means.

We love a sport even when our feet hurt and our body aches. We love food until even though our cholesterol is really not good. We love night clubs though we’re hung over in the morning. We love so damn much… and nearly EVERYTHING on that list.. will hurt..

The secret to life is, though, is that we can hold on the memories of all that we love.. without holding on to the pain. We can keep with the good parts about that/those moment (s) without holding ourselves back in their suffering.

There will always be something new to love. There will always be pain because you love it so hard.. but, growth brings you through it. It challenges you. It screams…

Light of the World

One of my favourite Salvation Army Band pieces is called ‘The Light of the World’ written and composed by Dean Goffin who I believe was Australian. I suppose one of the reasons I like this piece is the main hymn/theme going through it which is O Jesus, thou art standing. You will also hear the chorus Behold me standing at the door come in through the piece and if you listen carefully you will hear the bottom end of the band emphasise the knocking.

Holmun Hunt also painted a picture of Jesus sanding outside a door knocking and I believe this can be seen in St Paul’s Cathedral, London.

Image result for jesus knocking at the door painting

O Jesus, thou art standing,
outside the fast closed door,
in lowly patience waiting
to pass the threshold o’er:
shame on us, Christian brothers,
his Name and sign who bear,
O shame, thrice shame upon us,
to keep him standing there!

O Jesus, thou art knocking;
and lo, that hand is scarred,
and thorns thy brow encircle,
and tears thy face have marred:
O love that passeth knowledge,
so patiently to wait!
O sin that hath no equal,
so fast to bar the gate!

O Jesus, thou art pleading
in accents meek and low,
“I died for you, my children,
and will you treat me so?”
O Lord, with shame and sorrow
we open now the door;
dear Saviour, enter, enter,
and leave us never more.

As you listen to this video I would invite you to pray for the people of Afghanistan and the troubles in that country

The Love of Money

All You Need is Jesus

Money….it’s the root of all sorts of evil….

Hmmm….no, not exactly.

But it’s in the Bible, you say. And if it’s in the Bible then it’s true!

Well…not so fast. You skipped a word when reading the verse in 1 Timothy 6:10. It is the LOVE of money that is the root of all evil.

For the love of money is the root of all kinds of evil. And some people, craving money, have wandered from the true faith and pierced themselves with many sorrows.

1 Timothy 6:10

We’d all like to have more money. It’s how we survive in this world, right? We need money to buy groceries, to pay rent, to pay, ugh, bills…

When we start obsessing about money is when we have turned that money into a god.

I’m afraid I may have turned it into a god these past several months. I temporarily lost my…

Know Your Worth; Own Your Life

Every day, I intentionally seek out a way to leave a positive impact on someone’s life. I have the resources. I have the time.

Today, I want to spotlight this incredible human being!

Bryan is an everyday guy, doing normal things. Fishing and working fills his days. Roughly 4-5 days ago, Brian received a powerful message from a boy, asking him to be his father.

The emotional tole has changed Bryan’s life.. because he went from “I can’t do this!” To smiling and stepping out in Faith.

This guy has touched my heart because his calling came to him; and rather than dodging it, he committed to it. He accepted this purpose and is now on the adventure of helping young in need.

In his personal time, he loves to fish! The link below is the Go Fund Me he’s set up to raise…

What does it mean to be a LEO?

Leos are strong, courageous and passionate people. Never criticise those born in the Sun of Lion: Try to provide the reasons why you consider their actions and behaviour inappropriate carefully:

A Special kind of care

Early this morning I was contacted by someone that runs a prayer network to do a bible reading and devotion, so here we go.

I eventually came up with the following reading

He will tend his flock like a shepherd; he will gather the lambs in his arms; he will carry them in his bosom, and gently lead those that are with young. Isaiah 40:11 because Our good Shepherd gathers us in his arms and carries us “in his bosom,” a picture of intimacy and closeness and deep care, and he gently leads us.

I can testify to the fact that God does care for us at all times from joy to sadness.

As I write this I am thinking of the troubles in Afghanistan. I pray for Gods hand in that situation

Finally in the video we are reminded that God cares for us in a special way!

Loved points 3 & 4. especially 4 it gave me a laugh!🤣

Know Your Worth; Own Your Life

Salted Caramel has posted this week’s 5Things Challenge! Have a look at her original post, here!

During the lockdown, I’ve learned

1. In the classroom learning is essential for most kids.

2. I need to rediscover who I am, outside of a mom.

3. This world gets crazy when a mass of people are forced to stop moving.. thus, stuck in their thoughts.

4. I really loved how empty every place was when I went.

5. Most people do not place their health in their own hands.

I know these are a bit discouraging; but, these are things I’ve learned. They’re significant in my life.

What about for you?

Stay Safe, Speak Life, and Spread Kindness!

Celebration of Life

Ok I think it is time i was back blogging, don’t tell me you’ve missed me, I really hope you have.

Let me tell the unfortunate reason for temporarily stopping, though i was putting up the odd backup blog in this period

Nearly three weeks ago we received news that my late fathers cousin had died suddenly, this was a man my mother and father took in when his mother died and he was classed as a brother/Sister to us kids.

Because the death was sudden and he was only 67 we had to wait on the post mortum for cause of death which was natural causes.

Fortunately whilst waiting on post mortum the family were able to arrange most of funeral.

After that funeral at the start of the next week I received a phone call to say that my Stepdad 88 had died (again natural causes), so it was a case of rushing to be at mum’s side for the next few days. My Brother and Sister came up from England on Thursday, though she stayed with mum till Saturday.

The funeral was Friday past.

I always like to think of a funeral being a celebration of that persons life and yes their partner may be grieving for them, which is natural. Another form of celebrating their life is the funeral Tea where you quite often hear some stories about that person. Stories you’ve never heard before.
