What do we do when we have messed up everything, allowed sin to overtake us, and ignored God’s loving ownership of our lives? How do we remedy the regret and stifle the stigma? How can we open ourselves to restored fellowship with the Father? David understood these questions. His sin was laid bare when Nathan […]
27 Jesus and his disciples went on to the villages around Caesarea Philippi. On the way he asked them, “Who do people say I am?”
28 They replied, “Some say John the Baptist; others say Elijah; and still others, one of the prophets.”
29 “But what about you?” he asked. “Who do you say I am?”
Peter answered, “You are the Messiah.”
30 Jesus warned them not to tell anyone about him.
Unfortunately I was unable to find the words written by Yvonne Field. It is in the UK Salvation Army song book No. 280 should you wish to look up the words.
“Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour.” (Exodus 20:16) There are several important and very specific words used in this commandment. An expanded translation could well be “Do not purposely intend to injure or plan to deceive others by repeating a damaging report about one with whom you have established a relationship.”
Bless the Lord always, give him honor and glory in all of creation. He defends the weak, provides to those who do not have and strengthens the righteous. There is no one like our God, for He is merciful and will heal us of our infirmities. Bless the LORD, O my soul, and all that […]
1 I lift up my eyes to the mountains— where does my help come from? 2 My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.
3 He will not let your foot slip— he who watches over you will not slumber; 4 indeed, he who watches over Israel will neither slumber nor sleep.
5 The Lord watches over you— the Lord is your shade at your right hand; 6 the sun will not harm you by day, nor the moon by night.
7 The Lord will keep you from all harm— he will watch over your life; 8 the Lord will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore.
1. To the hills I lift my eyes, The distant hills before me; Hills that rise to reach the skies, And spread their glory o’er me. Planted by omnipotent hand, By divine appointment they stand, To the hills I lift my eyes, The beckoning hills before me.
2. Eyes may scan the dizzy height, And human feet stand on it; Only faith, in mystic flight, Can see the realms beyond it. Steeper than the mountains of time, Higher than the loftiest climb, O’er the hills I lift my eyes; From thence my help is coming.
3. To the hills I’ll turn again, Away from earthly slumber, There to gain the topmost plain; May naught my way encumber. On the highest summit I’ll stand, There to view the long-promised land; Though my eyes look to the skies, I lift my heart to Heaven.
13 Then people brought little children to Jesus for him to place his hands on them and pray for them. But the disciples rebuked them.
14 Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.”15 When he had placed his hands on them, he went on from there.
Jesus loves the little children,
All the children of the world.
Red and yellow, black and white,
All are precious in His sight.
Jesus loves the little children of the world
Having attended Sunday school many moons ago the above chorus was a well known and very popular chorus in those days. I hate to say this but I think its sad to think we can’t sing such a chorus in today’s society because of the third line.
I have a poem for you! First, let’s take a look at what yesterday brought. I woke up at around 4AM and couldn’t get back to sleep. Very grey thoughts churned around in my head until the alarm went off at 7AM. By then I was in tears. Early in the afternoon Andrew and I […]

God is intimately involved with His creation. Psalm 104 tells us this. The rhythms of life that we observe were planned and created by Him. From the foundation of the Earth to the heavens above and to the smallest particle of life in the deepest ocean, God’s intricate design and care are evident. He designed […]
