3 I heard a loud voice from the throne say, “See, the tent of God is among humans! He will make his home with them, and they will be his people. God himself will be with them, and he will be their God. 4 He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There won’t be death anymore. There won’t be any grief, crying, or pain, because the first things have disappeared.”
I came across this song by The Melbourne Veterans Band a while ago and have always thought what a great testimony. You notice in the first half of verses everything refers to our ‘Earthly World’ and the second half he refers to ‘a Better World’ where men are saved to God and eternity
Unfortunately I have been unable to get the words of the song
31 He then began to teach them that the Son of Man must suffer many things and be rejected by the elders, the chief priests and the teachers of the law, and that he must be killed and after three days rise again.32 He spoke plainly about this, and Peter took him aside and began to rebuke him.
33 But when Jesus turned and looked at his disciples, he rebuked Peter. “Get behind me, Satan!” he said. “You do not have in mind the concerns of God, but merely human concerns.”
The Way of the Cross
34 Then he called the crowd to him along with his disciples and said: “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me.35 For whoever wants to save their life[b] will lose it, but whoever…
12When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”
13The Pharisees challenged him, “Here you are, appearing as your own witness; your testimony is not valid.”
14Jesus answered, “Even if I testify on my own behalf, my testimony is valid, for I know where I came from and where I am going. But you have no idea where I come from or where I am going. 15You judge by human standards; I pass judgment on no one. 16But if I do judge, my decisions are true, because I am not alone. I stand with the Father, who sent me. 17In your own Law it is written that…
O God, You are awesome from Your sanctuary The God of Israel Himself gives strength and power to the people Blessed be God!
Here we have a song that tells us off all the amazing things that God can do. Right through from a small seed till we get old, he even plans our future.
We are also reminded that Christ died at Calvary for our sins in the song.
We truly do have an Amazing God who loves, cares for each of us (believer or not). He not only loves & cares for us but he loves & Cares for the creatures of this earth and while we believe in him he is everything to us.
I know that there is nothing better for people than to be happy and to do good while they live. 13That each of them may eat and drink, and find satisfaction in all their toil-this is the gift of God.
I thought I would talk about Happiness today.
We all have our own troubles and worries of some sort, whether it may be financial or worried about a relative/friend who is ill. It doesn’t really matter what the problem or worry is as long as we have the Lord on our side because through the power of prayer he will see us through that period.
In writing this I am reminded of the Sunday school chorus Happiness is to know the Saviour
The hymn “O God of Bethel” was written by Philip Doddridge (1702-1751). The hymn emphasizes that God has promised His people to be with them and keep them in all places where they go. The original text of the hymn is as follows:
O God of Bethel, by whose hand thy people still are fed, who through this weary pilgrimage hast all our fathers led;
Our vows, our prayers we now present before thy throne of grace; God of our fathers, be the God of their succeeding race.
His aim was to use it at the conclusion of a message he planned to preach on Jacob. The hymn emphasizes that God has promised His people to be with them and keep them in all places where they go. The hymn has been repeatedly turned to in times of conflict and uncertainty, and frequently sung at turning points in people’s lives.
12 Dear friends, do not be surprised at the fiery ordeal that has come on you to test you, as though something strange were happening to you. 13 But rejoice inasmuch as you participate in the sufferings of Christ, so that you may be overjoyed when his glory is revealed. 14 If you are insulted because of the name of Christ, you are blessed, for the Spirit of glory and of God rests on you. 15 If you suffer, it should not be as a murderer or thief or any other kind of criminal, or even as a meddler. 16 However, if you suffer as a Christian, do not be ashamed, but praise God that you bear that name. 17 For it is time for judgment to begin with God’s household; and if it begins with us, what will…
Sometimes I feel like a single mother although I think their life is even harder than mine because not only they have to take care of the kids and the house but they have to also bring money in to support everybody.
I don’t know how they do that. I wish I knew.
Anyway, tomorrow both my kids will be in camp. Problem is that they go to 2 different camps, my older son’s is 25 minutes away while my younger son’s is 5 knew away.
Unfortunately one of them will be late for camp and week likely be my 10 years old.
Pick up won’t be easy either because again they both end at the same time and there is only 1 of me.
Either I pick up older son early at 2.50 so I can pick up younger brother at 3 pm or I will be late to…
