Washington Irving Quotes

A mother’s love endures through all.
A kind heart is a fountain of gladness, making everything in its vicinity freshen into smiles.
American Washington Irving (1783-1859) ranks as one of his country’s most renowned authors. His amazing short stories of “Rip Van Winkle” and “The Legend of Sleeping Hollow” remain all-time classics. Ironically, his final resting place is at the Sleeping Hollow Cemetery in New York state.

Like A Tree
Thank you Tina for your post today The first line (in fact the whole poem) brings to mind a well known chorus in The Salvation Army called ” We’re All seeking the same Saviour”. I hope you enjoy listening to it. https://youtu.be/kZ8gzR2XxQI
We all need a Savior
In the flesh hearts grow weak
But God is our strength
He’s the anchor that we preach.
We’ve all grasped for hope
And grown faint on our knees
Our heart becomes downcast
When life becomes bleak
Holding on by a thread
We’re held in His arms
Fed in the desert
And healed by His scars.
Like a tree we have roots
For He’s planted us deep
Hope deferred leaves us longing
But He sees what we need
So we grow like a tree
As we stay in The Vine
Planted by the water
Until it’s our time.

Quote of the Day

“Soon, when all is going well, you’re going to look back on this period of your life and be glad you never gave up.”
When we’re in the midst of awful, desperate times it can be so easy to lose our motivation.
The struggle can feel endless. Unrelenting. Too ferocious.
And when the war drags on, and doesn’t let up for a moment, it’s understandable that we lose the will to fight.
But when we look back through the years, and we reflect on those dark times – the times when it was hard to see how we could make it through …
We see we did make progress.
And the ground shifted and moved.
For we’re not in the same place.
Something within us really changed.
“Do not lose hope. Please believe there are a thousand beautiful things waiting for you.”

Rainbow Catchers

Rainbow Catchers Their teardrops wouldn’t fall, in repulse at the chaos of it all. ’They’ revolted against immorality, frustrated by a man-made reality. He knew something had to be done, and that He was the magickal one. His skin, an aura of spectrum light, *tourmaline* eyes, watching at night. He glanced back to both sidewise, ‘We remember you’ they had cried. Myths and legends had been spread, that He should be avoided with dread. Yet he had no claws, scales or spikes, born within the arc of blue grey abyss. A vivid image flashed into their minds, his heart and theirs, snuggly entwined. He whispered “I’ll make this promise, to be truthful, kind and always honest. In the kingdom of karma and past lives, as we all dwell in the Heaven and skies. As each of your battles are fought and won, lessons will be…
