The Lord’s Goodness and unfailing Love

Psalm 23 New Living Translation

A psalm of David.

The Lord is my shepherd;
    I have all that I need.
He lets me rest in green meadows;
    he leads me beside peaceful streams.
    He renews my strength.
He guides me along right paths,
    bringing honour to his name.
Even when I walk
    through the darkest valley,[a]
I will not be afraid,
    for you are close beside me.
Your rod and your staff
    protect and comfort me.

You prepare a feast for me
    in the presence of my enemies.
You honor me by anointing my head with oil.
    My cup overflows with blessings.
Surely your goodness and unfailing love will pursue me
    all the days of my life,
and I will live in the house of the Lord
    forever.

I feel there’s only one video that can go with this popular Psalm and that is Stuart Townend’s Song of the Psalm.

Matthew 18 New International Version

The Greatest in the Kingdom of Heaven

18 At that time the disciples came to Jesus and asked, “Who, then, is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?”

He called a little child to him, and placed the child among them. And he said: “Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Therefore, whoever takes the lowly position of this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. And whoever welcomes one such child in my name welcomes me.

Jesus, Friend of little children,
be a friend to me;
take my hand, and ever keep me
close to thee.

Teach me how to grow in goodness,
daily as I grow;
thou hast been a child, and surely
thou dost know.

Step by step, O lead me onward,
Upward into youth;
Wiser, stronger, still becoming
In Thy truth.

Never leave me, nor forsake me;
ever be my friend;
for I need thee, from life’s dawning
to its end.

Proverbs 12 New International Version

19 Truthful lips endure forever,
    but a lying tongue lasts only a moment.

I Got to admit Proverbs is one of my favourite books in the Bible.

It is very easy these days to tell a lie, but what we seem to forget is that lies have a habit of catching up with you.

What verse nineteen basically tells us is that truthful lips will last forever whilst lying tongues will only be short lived.

The Great Physician

Image result for the great physician

Luke 4:23 23 Jesus said to them, “Surely you will quote this proverb to me: ‘Physician, heal yourself!’ And you will tell me, ‘Do here in your hometown what we have heard that you did in Capernaum.'”

When we are ill or have to attend our GP about something we depend on him to prescribe the right medicine along with the right advice and it is like wise if we have to see a consultant at outpatients at our local hospital. The same applies if we are unfortunate enough to land in hospital for a few days or weeks we have to put our trust in the doctor and nurses looking after us.

It goes without saying that the greatest Physician of all time was Jesus himself and how he performed all those miracles such as ‘making the blind man see & the lame man walk’ etc

‘Loose Them!’

The video you are about to see is

An excerpt of General John Gowans, at his dynamic and eloquent best, preaching at The Salvation Army Old Orchard Beach camp meetings in Maine, USA – circa mid 2000’s.

This is a timely reminder that we should always go or do things if we need to. In the video you will hear that John Gowans (a Captain at the time) never discouraged and always encouraged this man.

What I like about Gowans preaching here is the touch of comedy mixed with the serious side.
