John 15:15

15 I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you.

1.
Jesus, tender lover of my soul,
Pardoner of my sins, and friend indeed,
Keeper of the garden of my heart,
Jesus, thou art everything to me.
Chorus
Jesus, thou art everything to me,
Jesus, thou art everything to me,
All my lasting joys are found in thee;
Jesus, thou art everything to me.

2.
What to me are all the joys of earth?
What to me is every sight I see,
Save the sight of thee, O Friend of mine?
Jesus, thou art everything to me.

3.
Here I lay me at thy bleeding feet,
Deepest homage now I give to thee;
Hear thy whispered love within my soul;
Jesus, thou…

Love

Kenneth's avatarChristian Devotions, Health and General issues of the day

1 Corinthians 13 New International Version

13 If I speak in the tongues[a] of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast,[b] but do not have love, I gain nothing.

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonour others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the…

21“Lord,” Martha said to Jesus, “if you had been here, my brother would not have died.22But I know that even now God will give you whatever you ask.”

23Jesus said to her,“Your brother will rise again.”

24Martha answered, “I know he will rise again in the resurrectionat the last day.”

25Jesus said to her,“I amthe resurrection and the life. The one who believesin me will live, even though…

Perfect Love

1 John 4New International Version

God’s Love and Ours

7Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of Godand knows God.8Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.9This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Soninto the world that we might live through him.10This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved usand sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.11Dear friends, since God so loved us,we also ought to love one another.12No one has ever seen God;but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us.

13This is how we knowthat we live in him and he in us: He has given us of his…

The New Jerusalem

Revelation 21 New International Version – UK

A new heaven and a new earth

21 Then I saw ‘a new heaven and a new earth,’[a] for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea. I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, ‘Look! God’s dwelling-place is now among the people, and he will dwell with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. “He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death”[b] or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.’

God’s Plan

Acts 16:30-31

Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved”

Amazing grace! How sweet the sound
That saved a wretch like me.
I once was lost, but now am found,
Was blind, but now I see.

‘Twas grace that taught my heart to fear,
And grace my fears relieved.
How precious did that grace appear
The hour I first believed.

Through many dangers, toils and snares
I have already come;
‘Tis grace has brought me safe thus far
And grace will lead me home.

The Lord has promised good to me
His word my hope secures;
He will my shield and portion be,
As long as life endures.

Yea, when this flesh and heart shall fail,
And mortal life shall cease,
I shall possess within the veil,
A life of joy and peace.

When we’ve been there ten thousand years
Bright shining as the sun,
We’ve no…

Luke 11:1-13 New International Version

Jesus’ Teaching on Prayer

11 One day Jesus was praying in a certain place. When he finished, one of his disciples said to him, “Lord, teach us to pray, just as John taught his disciples.”

He said to them, “When you pray, say:

“‘Father,[a]
hallowed be your name,
your kingdom come.[b]
Give us each day our daily bread.
Forgive us our sins,
for we also forgive everyone who sins against us.[c]
And lead us not into temptation.[d]’”

Then Jesus said to them, “Suppose you have a friend, and you go to him atImage result for prayer midnight and say, ‘Friend, lend me three loaves of bread; a friend of mine on a journey has come to me, and I have no food to offer him.’ And suppose the…

Our Calling

Our Calling

John 15:16

You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit—fruit that will last—and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you.

One of my favourite songs of all time has got to be ‘Just where He needs me’  written by Miriam M. Richards. These are wonderful words to an equally wonderful tune.

You notice that in each verse especially the last one (my favourite) that’s where the Lord placed them.

1.
What can I say to cheer a world of sorrow?
How bring back hope where men have sorely failed?
Just where I am I’ll speak the word of comfort,
Tell how for me Christ’s sacrifice availed.
Chorus
Just where he needs me, my Lord has placed me,
Just where he needs me, there would I be!
And since he found me, by love he’s bound me
To serve him joyfully.

2.
What can I do to ease life’s heavy burdens?
What can I do to help mankind in need?
Just where I am I’ll share my neighbor’s hardship,
Lighten his load, and prove a friend indeed.

3.
What can I do to justify my living?
What can I be to worthwhile?
I’ll be a voice to call men to the Saviour,
Just where I am, and win my Father’s smile.
