20 Years Later…..

Leigh's avatarAll You Need is Jesus

8:46, September 11, 2001.

Life changed forever. (though we didn’t know it at first)

It was a peaceful, sunny Tuesday morning until….well, until it wasn’t.

After the North Tower was hit, an accident was believed by many.

Then….

Then at 9:03, another plane….this time hitting the South Tower.

This…

This was no accident.

On this day 20 years ago

Our nation was attacked

Our freedom was threatened

No time to react

Cries of “help me” heard all around the world…silent tears flow all the way down

They thought they’d attack us

They thought they’d get away

Well guess what you terrorists

Our freedom is still here to stay

It’s been 20 years since that horrific day….but sometimes it feels just like yesterday.

Why God would allow this to happen, it’s something we’ll never understand

But God has a plan and He holds the world in His hands.

Where Were You?

Spurgeon: Would you “bleed Bible?” — Knowing God through His Word … Day by Day

Leigh's avatarAll You Need is Jesus

Very good read by Pam Larson!

Incline your ear, and hear the words of the wise, and apply your heart to my knowledge, for it will be pleasant if you keep them within you, if all of them are ready on your lips. That your trust may be in the Lord, I have made them known to you today, even to[…]

Goodness

Riverside Peace's avatarRiverside Peace

For the Lord is a sun and shield; the Lord bestows favour and honour; no good thing does he withhold from those whose walk is blameless. – Psalm 84:11 (NIV)

Do you find yourself at times focusing on how you messed up rather than the emphasis on the goodness Jesus gives? I know I do and sometimes I despair over what I don’t have and forget to look at just what He has provided.

Reading a verse like this one in Psalm 84 certainly is a wake-up call. His provision is perfect and His possibilities are endless. He is doing new things, great things, every moment of every day of our lives.

James 1:17 says: Every goodand perfectgiftis fromabove, comingdown from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.

Today, will you join me and reach out and to grab every opportunity?

Look with expectancy for…

To understand the history of God’s salvation, we must remember this: Christ will come again.

charlie's avatarLearning From God's Word

Job 38:1-40:2; Matthew 24:32-25:13; Psalm 18:37-42

The story of our life is only understood once we see the full picture. The book of Job is not understood by reading the words of Job and his ‘comforters’. We must also hear the Word of the Lord. The history of God’s salvation is not understood by reading only about Christ’s first coming. We must look on to His Second Coming. Concerning that Coming, we might imagine Jesus Christ speaking to the Father in the words of the Psalmist: “You armed me with strength for battle; You humbled my adversaries before me” (Psalm 18:39; see also Philippians 2:9-11 and 1 Corinthians 15:24-28).
