9 Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. 10 Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.
Sometimes we fail to help people as we would like to, we shouldn’t give up trying, but keep doing good as scripture encourages us to do.
Little things from helping an elderly neighbour by getting shopping for them right through to seeing a stranger in need help.
You can be assured the Lord sees all these acts of kindness and he will see favour in us.
And they devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers. And awe came upon every soul, and many wonders and signs were being done through the apostles. And all who believed were together and had all things in common. And they were selling their possessions and belongings and distributing the proceeds to all, as any had need. And day by day, attending the temple together and breaking bread in their homes, they received their food with glad and generous hearts,
To have a good fellowship in your church you not only need unity and kindness amongst other things . If there is a good and positive fellowship in your church it should help it to grow. Should that positive fellowship turn to negative fellowship and the unity in the church ceases to exist then that’s when the devil get’s in a the church will decline.
I have seen this first hand in one church I was a member off and it wasn’t a pleasant thing to witness. Needless to say it wasn’t long before I found another church where I felt at home.
If your situation seems impossible, at least look it straight in the eye, because having a painful truth is better than a pleasant lie. Pleasant lies just perpetuate your problems. When reading this verse of scripture and title I am reminded of the hymn I learnt as a child.
Tell me the stories of Jesus I love to hear;
Things I would ask Him to tell me if He were here;
Scenes by the wayside, tales of the sea,
Stories of Jesus, tell them to me.
First let me hear how the children stood round His knee,
And I shall fancy His blessing resting on me;
Words full of kindness, deeds full of grace,
All in the love light of Jesus’ face.

Tossing the boat in a tempest on Galilee;

13 If I speak in the tongues[a] of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. 2 If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. 3 If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast,[b] but do not have love, I gain nothing. 4 Love is patient, love is kind. This is a timely reminder that we should always go or do things if we need to. In the video you will hear that John Gowans (a Captain at the time) never discouraged and always encouraged this man.
What I like about Gowans preaching here is the touch of comedy mixed with the serious side.
