The Cross — GraceSpeak

I Corinthians 1:18 For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God. Hebrews 12:2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

Covid-19 Lockdown 4

Well the UK has come to the end of the first three weeks of lockdown and we are entering into another three weeks of lockdown.

Yet aagain it’s been a week where social media has been very active with people chatting to friends and family.

One oother thing that has become a regular thing over the last few weeks is the support for the NHS. The way people have been showing their support is by going to their front door at eight o’clock on Thursday night and clapping hands.

I got to admit it seems strange seeing the streets with hardly a soul on them, and equally strange not being able to visit family.

God knows everyone

Matthew 10 The Message

Forget About Yourself

29-31 “What’s the price of a pet canary? Some loose change, right? And God cares what happens to it even more than you do. He pays even greater attention to you, down to the last detail—even numbering the hairs on your head! So don’t be intimidated by all this bully talk. You’re worth more than a million canaries.

32-33 “Stand up for me against world opinion and I’ll stand up for you before my Father in heaven. If you turn tail and run, do you think I’ll cover for you?

34-37 “Don’t think I’ve come to make life cozy. I’ve come to cut—make a sharp knife-cut between son and father, daughter and mother, bride and mother-in-law—cut through these cozy domestic arrangements and free you for God. Well-meaning family members can be your worst enemies. If you prefer father or mother over me, you don’t deserve me. If you prefer son or daughter over me, you don’t deserve me.

38-39 “If you don’t go all the way with me, through thick and thin, you don’t deserve me. If your first concern is to look after yourself, you’ll never find yourself. But if you forget about yourself and look to me, you’ll find both yourself and me.

40-42 “We are intimately linked in this harvest work. Anyone who accepts what you do, accepts me, the One who sent you. Anyone who accepts what I do accepts my Father, who sent me. Accepting a messenger of God is as good as being God’s messenger. Accepting someone’s help is as good as giving someone help. This is a large work I’ve called you into, but don’t be overwhelmed by it. It’s best to start small. Give a cool cup of water to someone who is thirsty, for instance. The smallest act of giving or receiving makes you a true apprentice. You won’t lose out on a thing.”

Love Triumphs! — GraceSpeak

Easy to become jaded and sarcastic – guarding and protecting self. Easy to build walls to hide behind rather than bridges to connect. Easy to criticize, to assume the worst and tear down. Easy to jump to a conclusion and react without understanding. Easy to pretend. Love, though, reaches out, opening oneself to become vulnerable […]

Dawn — GraceSpeak

One of my favorite verses of Scripture is found in Matthew 28:1. In the end of the sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week, came Mary Magdalene and the other Mary to see the sepulcher. As it began to dawn. The night had overpowered them and knocked them down. […]

Waiting — GraceSpeak

Anyone who has ever received a difficult diagnosis or known the heartbreak of watching a loved one die knows the agony of waiting. We wait for the results of the next test. We wait for the next treatment. We wait through symptoms, and reactions, and pain. We wait for a funeral, signaling our final severance […]

Be Still — GraceSpeak

I am your strength and shield, your help in time of need. I am your Bread of Life; My Spirit intercedes As you wrestle with the forces that threaten you, And struggle just to make it through each day. I am here, call and I will answer The cry of your soul to My heart. […]

Covid-19 UK Lockdown week 2

We at the end of another week of lockdown here in the UK and still things feel really strange.

The video calls are still increasing on social media, and although Covid-19 is a serious concern at the moment, people are posting funny videos on social media.

Another thing that has become a regular thing over the last two weeks, is that that on a certain night at 8pm people go to their front door to thank the people of the National Health Service, and the people who are delivering food etc to those who can’t get out for their messages etc.

As we enter into the third week of lockdown and you are reading this in the UK please observe the government guidelines and stay safe, stay well!
