Quote of the Day

Don't Lose Hope's avatarDon't Lose Hope

“Soon, when all is going well, you’re going to look back on this period of your life and be glad you never gave up.”

When we’re in the midst of awful, desperate times it can be so easy to lose our motivation.

The struggle can feel endless. Unrelenting. Too ferocious.

And when the war drags on, and doesn’t let up for a moment, it’s understandable that we lose the will to fight.

But when we look back through the years, and we reflect on those dark times – the times when it was hard to see how we could make it through …

We see we did make progress.

And the ground shifted and moved.

For we’re not in the same place.

Something within us really changed.

Do not lose hope. Please believe there are a thousand beautiful things waiting for you.”

Rainbow Catchers

Rainbow Catchers Their teardrops wouldn’t fall, in repulse at the chaos of it all. ’They’ revolted against immorality, frustrated by a man-made reality. He knew something had to be done, and that He was the magickal one. His skin, an aura of spectrum light, *tourmaline* eyes, watching at night. He glanced back to both sidewise, ‘We remember you’ they had cried. Myths and legends had been spread, that He should be avoided with dread. Yet he had no claws, scales or spikes, born within the arc of blue grey abyss. A vivid image flashed into their minds, his heart and theirs, snuggly entwined. He whispered “I’ll make this promise, to be truthful, kind and always honest. In the kingdom of karma and past lives, as we all dwell in the Heaven and skies. As each of your battles are fought and won, lessons will be…

Discipline

Proverbs 29 New International Version – UK

Photo by nappy on Pexels.com

29 Whoever remains stiff-necked after many rebukes
    will suddenly be destroyed – without remedy.

When the righteous thrive, the people rejoice;
    when the wicked rule, the people groan.

A man who loves wisdom brings joy to his father,
    but a companion of prostitutes squanders his wealth.

By justice a king gives a country stability,
    but those who are greedy for[a] bribes tear it down.

Those who flatter their neighbours
    are spreading nets for their feet.

Evildoers are snared by their own sin,
    but the righteous shout for joy and are glad.

The righteous care about justice for the poor,
    but the wicked have no such concern.

Mockers stir up a city,
    but the wise turn away anger.

If a wise person goes to court with a fool,
    the fool rages and scoffs, and there is no peace.

10 The bloodthirsty hate a person of integrity
    and seek to kill the upright.

11 Fools give full vent to their rage,
    but the wise bring calm in the end.

12 If a ruler listens to lies,
    all his officials become wicked.

13 The poor and the oppressor have this in common:
    the Lord gives sight to the eyes of both.

14 If a king judges the poor with fairness,
    his throne will be established for ever.

15 A rod and a reprimand impart wisdom,
    but a child left undisciplined disgraces its mother.

16 When the wicked thrive, so does sin,
    but the righteous will see their downfall.

17 Discipline your children, and they will give you peace;
    they will bring you the delights you desire.

18 Where there is no revelation, people cast off restraint;
    but blessed is the one who heeds wisdom’s instruction.

19 Servants cannot be corrected by mere words;
    though they understand, they will not respond.

20 Do you see someone who speaks in haste?
    There is more hope for a fool than for them.

21 A servant pampered from youth
    will turn out to be insolent.

22 An angry person stirs up conflict,
    and a hot-tempered person commits many sins.

23 Pride brings a person low,
    but the lowly in spirit gain honour.

24 The accomplices of thieves are their own enemies;
    they are put under oath and dare not testify.

25 Fear of man will prove to be a snare,
    but whoever trusts in the Lord is kept safe.

26 Many seek an audience with a ruler,
    but it is from the Lord that one gets justice.

27 The righteous detest the dishonest;
    the wicked detest the upright.

Truths You Need to Admit to Yourself in the Aftermath of Trauma

Don't Lose Hope's avatarDon't Lose Hope

“I have a gaping, bleeding hole in my soul.”

1. What happened to you mattered. It really, really mattered.

2. It wasn’t your fault, and you didn’t ask for it. This is one situation where you truly are a victim.

3. You’re no longer the person you used to be. You’re a shell of the person you used to be. You’re profoundly changed; you hardly recognize yourself.

4. This has turned your life completely upside down … So you don’t know what to believe anymore … And you don’t know who to believe anymore … And you’re afraid to trust … And you’re afraid to hope … And you’re afraid to believe that things will work out for you

5. You can’t relax and enjoy your life as you don’t know when the other shoe is going to drop. At any time of day, and on any random…
