A few months ago in our devotional period after Songster practice I based my thoughts on the song “I’ll follow Thee”

We are told in Mathew 16:24 that in order to be a follower of Jesus we must take up thy cross and it goes on to tell us in verse 2 that if we follow him he will give us strength and power.
Jesus replied, “Anyone who loves me will obey my teaching. My Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them.”
Yet again I was listening to a song of the same title on you tube last night which prompted me to write this blog.
It’s a song that invites us to listen and to respond to Jesus’s calling as he not only knocks at the door of our hearts and in doing so we may feel his presence, Help us to realise what you want us to be.

The first time I heard this song I got to admit I liked it, the laughable thing about it was it took me a few times to listen to it for the words to register with me.
Why I didn’t catch on the first time Heaven only knows. This is a brilliant testimony and invitation to get to know Christ

I first heard this song sang a few years ago and i liked it the moment I heard it. It’s a song of Love, it’s a song about the broken hearted afraid to take the chance, soul’s afraid of dying. Also it reminds us that what lies beneath the snow in winter, in spring there blooms a flower called The Rose.
58 “Shout it aloud, do not hold back. Raise your voice like a trumpet. Declare to my people their rebellion and to the descendants of Jacob their sins. 2 For day after day they seek me out; they seem eager to know my ways, as if they were a nation that does what is right and has not forsaken the commands of its God. They ask me for just decisions and seem eager for God to come near them. 3 ‘Why have we fasted,’ they say, ‘and you have not seen it? Why have we humbled ourselves, and you have not noticed?’
“Yet on the day of your fasting, you do as you please and exploit all your workers. 4 Your fasting ends in quarreling and strife, and in striking each other with wicked fists.
