For the pleasures of your soles

ME: I’m in a bad mood HIPPOCRATES: Go for a nice long walk and if you’re still in a bad mood, go for another walk. FOR THE PLEASURES OF YOUR SOLES When the world is chaotic, your mind is in a buzz, with in an infinite overload of ‘out of the blue’ stuff. Take your mind, heart, soul and spirit for a walk, listen out for the exhilarating sounds of nature’s call. Soul of Mother Earth, to soles of your feet; Heart to ground, centred in peace. Heel, then toe, mindfully across terrain, smell and touch the stability of Earth again. Let the grass grow under your feet, heart lifting moments, as senses meet. Earth and Heart, letters are the same; they’re just ‘sounded’ out in a different way. Victoria Healing ~ 27.4.2021 Heel to Toe

Forgiveness
Matthew 6 New International Version
Prayer
5 “And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full. 6 But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you. 7 And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words. 8 Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him.
9 “This, then, is how you should pray:
“‘Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name,
10 your kingdom come,
your will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
11 Give us today our daily bread.
12 And forgive us our debts,
as we also have forgiven our debtors.
13 And lead us not into temptation,[a]
but deliver us from the evil one.[b]’
14 For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. 15 But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.
The above picture reminds us that Christ died on the cross so that we may be saved from our sins, and also in verse 14 we as Christians are told if we forgive people (and we as humans some find it harder than others to do so) we are told God will also forgive us.
A kind God
Matthew 7 New International Version
Ask, Seek, Knock
7 “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. 8 For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.
9 “Which of you, if your son asks for bread, will give him a stone? 10 Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake? 11 If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him! 12 So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets.
God doesn’t Forget
Psalm 9 New International Version
11 Sing the praises of the Lord, enthroned in Zion;
proclaim among the nations what he has done.
12 For he who avenges blood remembers;
he does not ignore the cries of the afflicted.
13 Lord, see how my enemies persecute me!
Have mercy and lift me up from the gates of death,
14 that I may declare your praises
in the gates of Daughter Zion,
and there rejoice in your salvation.
15 The nations have fallen into the pit they have dug;
their feet are caught in the net they have hidden.
16 The Lord is known by his acts of justice;
the wicked are ensnared by the work of their hands.[c]
17 The wicked go down to the realm of the dead,
all the nations that forget God.
18 But God will never forget the needy;
the hope of the afflicted will never perish.
19 Arise, Lord, do not let mortals triumph;
let the nations be judged in your presence.
20 Strike them with terror, Lord;
let the nations know they are only mortal.
Ugly Ducklings

I passed up an opportunity to buy this, um, intriguing bit of artwork at an estate sale this morning, but the damned thing may haunt me for a while anyway.
A New Path – February 7, 2020
Thank you all for your continued prayers for me!
After months of waiting and not knowing anything new, there is positive progress! My mom and I are flying to a specialty Chiari clinic in Colorado (2/15-19). They will do a 3 day evaluation to determine if they think I would benefit from brain surgery. If there is a surgery, it will be about a month later, after the insurance pre-approval is processed.
It has all come together in the last two weeks and God’s hand has clearly been on all of it!
The neurosurgeon I saw in Seattle, in October, was concerned that on top of Chiari Malformation, I also have MS. I was referred to the MS clinic at OHSU, in November, and I’m still waiting to schedule with them. I don’t think that I have MS. I have no brain lesions and different symptoms. Chiari is still being…

Ask Us – Will I Ever be Able to Trust Again?

In this post we will briefly answer a question that was asked by one of our clients. Here is today’s question:
“I am afraid to trust again. My husband was betraying me behind my back for years, and I had absolutely no idea. So, my question is how can I know it’s safe to trust another man.? I’m afraid that I’ll be duped again.”
When we’ve been betrayed, especially if it’s multiple times, or over a long period of time, then it absolutely natural to fear trusting again. It’s also natural to be afraid that you might miss something important – because you were successfully deceived in the past. It’s sad but it’s very understandable. Your fears here are normal, and are actually very healthy.
Let me beginning by saying : What you did in your previous relationship was right.
You were right to trust your ex-husband. We…

The Sermon to beat all Sermons
Matthew 5 New International Version
Introduction to the Sermon on the Mount
11 “Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. 12 Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.
Promise in Waiting
Waiting for the moment
Will I know when it is here
Am I waiting in vain
What I heard, was it clear
Image courtesy of Pexels.com
I don’t know how it will come
Or from whom it will begin
All I know is, it is coming
I just don’t know when
So many questions
I can’t begin to ask
Just thinking about the day
Is more than a task
Can my heart take the waiting
Will I stand till then
Will I start tomorrow like today
Waiting again
I will not make it happen
Through deception or strife
I will fulfill my destiny
But through His plan for my life
He promised, He cannot lie
I have a purpose to fulfill
I’m still waiting for the promise
You know, the one in His will
