My Child

My child, I see your weakness
My child, I see your pain
And yes, I understand it
The trials in which you strain
I see your heart within you
Your love for Me, I see
My child, you are most prescious
And beautiful to Me
Beyond the flesh of failure
Beyond the body’s strife
My Spirit now transforms you
You’re held within my Life
So when you’re poor in spirit
And mourn for grief and sin
My child, I Am most near to you
My heart with yours, within

When I look at the lyrics Lisa penned I am reminded especially by the last verse of the Charles Wesley hymn Gentle Jesus meek and mild

Audio: Grey Clouds Linger

Too busy for God
Luke 10:38-42
38 As Jesus and his disciples were on their way, he came to a village where a woman named Martha opened her home to him. 39She had a sister called Mary, who sat at the LORD’s feet listening to what he said. 40But Martha was distracted by all the preparations that had to be made. She came to him and asked, “LORD, don’t you care that my sister has left me to do the work by myself? Tell her to help me!” 41″Martha, Martha,” the LORD answered, “you are worried and upset about many things, 42but few things are needed-or indeed only one. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her.”
The last couple of days I have been unusually busy, in fact so busy one day that I never managed to post a blog (don’t know if anyone noticed).
It is important that we set aside a time in our daily routine to spend some time with God. Have you spent that precious moment with him today yet?
What are Traumatic Memories?

Our most powerful memories have associated feelings. Sometimes these are positive, and sometimes negative. Traumatic memories are often very painful, intense, overwhelming, and usually negative.
What else do we know about traumatic memories, and how are they different from more ordinary ones? In summary:
1. These memories are carved deeply into the person’s brain. Thus, they leave frozen imprints which do not get updated. This is very different from our non-traumatic memories which are fluid and dynamic, and tend to change with time
3. Traumatic memories are resistant to new evidence. This is true even when the individual can agree with the new information being presented to them.
Although it logically makes sense, it still cannot overpower and change the old, entrenched reactions and beliefs. The reason is these deeply ingrained memories are believed, and the brain is trying to protect us from real harm.
4. That is, the body…
