Loving One Another

⁷Dear friends, let us continue to love one another, for love comes from God. Anyone who loves is a child of God and knows God. ⁸But anyone who does not love does not know God, for God is love.

⁹God showed how much he loved us by sending his one and only Son into the world so that we might have eternal life through him. ¹⁰This is real love—not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as a sacrifice to take away our sins.

¹¹Dear friends, since God loved us that much, we surely ought to love each other. ¹²No one has ever seen God. But if we love each other, God lives in us, and his love is brought to full expression in us.

¹³And God has given us his Spirit as proof that we live in him and he in us. ¹⁴Furthermore, we have seen with our own eyes and now testify that the Father sent his Son to be the Savior of the world. ¹⁵All who declare that Jesus is the Son of God have God living in them, and they live in God. ¹⁶We know how much God loves us, and we have put our trust in his love.

God is love, and all who live in love live in God, and God lives in them. ¹⁷And as we live in God, our love grows more perfect. So we will not be afraid on the day of judgment, but we can face him with confidence because we live like Jesus here in this world.

¹⁸Such love has no fear, because perfect love expels all fear. If we are afraid, it is for fear of punishment, and this shows that we have not fully experienced his perfect love. ¹⁹We love each other^[b] because he loved us first.

²⁰If someone says, “I love God,” but hates a fellow believer,^[c] that person is a liar; for if we don’t love people we can see, how can we love God, whom we cannot see? ²¹And he has given us this command: Those who love God must also love their fellow believers.^[d]

I will put my Spirit on him,

In faithfulness he will bring forth justice;

Gods Treasures

Matthew 6:19-20 19″Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. 20But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal.
Unfortunately I cannot find he words for this wonderful old piece.

We can search as much as we want for earthly pleasures but we will never find them on earth. As the song tells us it is not until we have Jesus in our hearts that is when we find the ‘real’ treasure.
I hope i picked the words of Chorus up correctly
Resting so sweetly in my Saviours head
He’s always near me, joys and griefs to share
He lifts me gently , gives me grace and power
Who in my victory , in my darkest hour

Travelling with a Smile in our heart

With the weather being the way it has been over the last week or so in the UK I thought I’d share this with you.

Unfortunately I was unable to find the verses of the song but did find the chorus, a testimony that we should have a smile on our faces (though it can be hard at times) and Travel along in the Sunshine.

Holy Spirit Holy Flow

The Holy Spirit, Holy Flow

Is flowing down from head to toe

Like moving waters, rushing wind

The Spirit breathes, new life is born

Upsprings the green, it’s everywhere

The flowers form, in beauty rare

The Spirit comes upon dry land

As God the Spirit intercedes

He opens eyes, we start to see

What God had always planned to be.

So Spirit come! Pull up the stops

So in will come the harvest crops

For God the Maker of it all

Will have His harvest in His store.

Loving God

Today’s Scripture & Insight: 1 John 4:10–21

The professor ended his online class in one of two ways each time. He’d say, “See you next time” or “Have a good weekend.” Some students would respond with “Thank you. You too!” But one day a student responded, “I love you.” Surprised, he replied, “I love you too!” That evening the classmates agreed to create an “I love you chain” for the next class time in appreciation for their professor who had to teach to a screen on his computer, not in-person teaching as he preferred. A few days later when he finished teaching, the professor said, “See you next time,” and one by one the students replied, “I love you.” They continued this practice for months. The teacher said this created a strong bond with his students, and he now feels they’re “family.”

In 1 John 4:10–21, we, as part of God’s family, find several reasons to say “I love you” to Him: He sent His Son as a sacrifice for our sin (v. 10). He gave us His Spirit to live in us (vv. 13, 15). His love is always reliable (v. 16), and we never need to fear judgment (v. 17). He enables us to love Him and others “because he first loved us” (v. 19).

The next time you gather with God’s people, take time to share your reasons for loving Him. Making an “I love you” chain for God will bring Him praise and bring you closer together.

The Lyre Harp

A strain upon a lyre harp

sweeps a sound so low

That only those who gather round

Can catch its sweetness flow,

A strain which takes all suffering

I first heard this arrangement as a child when my father bought a salvation army band LP with the arrangement on it. Being a child of about 7yrs old I obviously didn’t know the words or who wrote them. Now that I’m a lot older and have come to know the words and the composer Fanny Crosby I think it makes the arrangement a lot easier to understand. I also think that this particular arrangement is very fitting to Fanny Crosby’s words.

Forgiveness and wrongdoings

Often we are offered forgiveness for our wrongdoings from our friends or family which can lead to a fresh start in relationships.

With God however asking for forgiveness for our wrongdoing can not only lead to a fresh start.

It can lead to eternal life giving a live filled with purpose.

Turning to Jesus allows us to enter heaven when we die. It also gives us Peace, Joy, Grace, Mercy, Fulfilment, Comfort, Fellowship, Purpose and Wholeness.

O soul, are you weary and troubled?
No light in the darkness you see?
There’s a light for a look at the Savior,
And life more abundant and free!

Turn your eyes upon Jesus,
Look full in His wonderful face,
And the things of earth will grow strangely dim,
In the light of His glory and grace.

Through death into life everlasting
He passed, and we follow Him there;
Over us sin no more hath dominion—
For more than conquerors we are!
