R.I.P Sir Capt Tom Moore
Brain disorders & other General topics of the day
The NHS, the Queen and Boris Johnson have led tributes to Captain Sir Tom Moore, who has died at the age of 100 after testing positive for COVID-19.
In a statement on Tuesday afternoon, Sir Tom’s daughters Hannah Ingram-Moore and Lucy Teixeira said: “It is with great sadness that we announce the death of our dear father, Captain Sir Tom Moore.
“We are so grateful that we were with him during the last hours of his life; Hannah, Benjie and Georgia by his bedside and Lucy on FaceTime. We spent hours chatting to him, reminiscing about our childhood and our wonderful mother. We shared laughter and tears together.
“The last year of our father’s life was nothing short of remarkable. He was rejuvenated and experienced things he’d only ever dreamed of.”
Sir Tom’s twitter account posted a picture of him shortly after his death was confirmed.

This Might be the End of The Bipolar Writer Blog
The Bipolar Writer Mental Health Blog
I am at a real crossroads withThe Bipolar Writer Collaborative Blog.First, I want to say that it has been my honor to share my experiences with Bipolar One and give a place for the mental illness community’s voices to come together in one place since 2017. Many notable mental health bloggers have used this as a platform to launch their own work, and I am honored to be that place.
I have loved this blog and the outreach that has been amazing since day one. I never imagined that the blog would grow so much, but with all the projects that I have going on, most of my money is tied up, and I can’t pay for the next year to keep the blog alive, at least not at this juncture. My hope was to use my Buy me a Coffee site to…

Someone Cares
Matthew 11:28-30 (NIVUK)

28 ‘Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.’
Do you sometimes feel that no one truly knows you,
And that no one understands or really cares?
Through his people, God himself is close beside you,
And through them he plans to answer all your prayers.
Chorus
Someone cares, someone cares,
Someone knows your deepest need, your burden shares;
Someone cares, someone cares,
God himself will hear the whisper of your prayers.
2. Ours is not a distant God, remote, unfeeling,
Who is careless of our loneliness and pain,
Through the ministry of men he gives his healing,
In their dedicated hands brings hope again.
I was certain I had done a blog of this title in the past, but looking back I discovered I hadn’t. It’s a song that is well known is The Salvation Army, in fact it started of in one of the Army musicals “Take over Bid”.
The words by General John Gowans is as you can hear put to a simple tune written by General John Larsson. As you can see by the words it a song used in times of reflection.
This is the arrangement by Andrew Mair
MADE ANEW

Above all else, guard your heart,
for everything you do flows from it.
I have been battling in the last 24 hours with this devotional post, it was not coming together naturally. Thus I had to sleep on it and leave it in His hands. Today, in the space of a few minutes the Spirit led me to my verse I needed. It came courtesy of a brother on Twitter, Ray Skilton. Ray comes from Maidstone in Kent, his verse posts are always a blessing to me. Further to this as I shared the above verse with Susan, my wife, with the intention of asking for a song…the Spirit gave her a song instantly before I could ask her! This song is shared below the text. Isn’t it amazing how Almighty God interacts with us, in His own perfect time and His…

The Desired Dwelling Place
Psalm 132
10 For the sake of your servant David,
do not reject your anointed one.
11 The Lord swore an oath to David,
a sure oath he will not revoke:
“One of your own descendants
I will place on your throne.
12 If your sons keep my covenant
and the statutes I teach them,
then their sons will sit
on your throne for ever and ever.”
13 For the Lord has chosen Zion,
he has desired it for his dwelling, saying,
14 “This is my resting place for ever and ever;
here I will sit enthroned, for I have desired it.
15 I will bless her with abundant provisions;
her poor I will satisfy with food.
16 I will clothe her priests with salvation,
and her faithful people will ever sing for joy.
17 “Here I will make a horn[b] grow for David
and set up a lamp for my anointed one.
18 I will clothe his enemies with shame,
but his head will be adorned with a radiant crown.
Lord I have a cry, a burning desire.
To walk and Talk, as my heart turns to you
Endless nights. i stay awake
You satisfy me you anoint me
(Repeat)
But it ain’t all that I need
As long as i live i’ll never sleep
Until i find a place for you
my promise and my creed
This is your house, where i live forever
surround me and praise me and captivate me
In holiness I come and brokenness i bow
you appointed me to carry your Glory
(repeat)

Burn’s Night
I don’t usually do poems but as I live an area of Scotland that celebrated burn’s night on Monday I searched for a christian backgroud on him and this is one of the poem’s that came up.

A new Psalm for the chapel of Kilmarnock
O sing a new Song to the Lord! Make, all and every one, A joyful noise, even for the king His restoration. The sons of Belial in the land Did set their heads together; Come, let us sweep them off, said they, Like an o'erflowing river. They set their heads together, I say, They set their heads together: On right, and left, and every hand, We saw none to deliver. Thou madest strong two chosen Ones To quell the Wicked's pride: That Young Man, great in Issachar, The burden-bearing Tribe. And him, among the Princes chief In our Jerusalem, The judge that's mighty in thy law, The man that fears thy name. Yet they, even they, with all their might, Began to faint and fail; Even as two howling, ravening wolves To dogs do turn their tail. Th' Ungodly o'er the Just prevail'd, For so thou hadst appointed; That thou might'st greater glory give Unto thine own Annointed. And now thou hast restored our State, Pity our kirk also; For she by tribulations Is now brought very low! Consume that High-Place, Patronage, From off thy holy hill; And in thy fury burn the book Even of that man, M'Gill. Now hear our Prayer, accept our Song, And fight thy Chosen's battle: We seek but little, Lord, from thee, Thou kens we get as little.
Light
John 1:5-9
Light and Darkness, Sin and Forgiveness
5 This is the message we have heard from him and declare to you: God is light; in him there is no darkness at all. 6 If we claim to have fellowship with him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not live out the truth. 7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin. 8 If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. 9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.
Lead Kindly Light, a song of guidance .Notice in verse 2 the writer choose not to pray and pride ruled over the years. As we enter into verse 3 Things get better for the writer of the hymn as power prevails and the light comes and darkness disappears
Lead, kindly light, amid the encircling gloom,
Lead thou me on;
The night is dark, and I am far from home;
Lead thou me on;
Keep thou my feet; I do not ask to see
The distant scene: one step enough for me.
I was not ever thus, nor prayed that thou
Shouldst lead me on;
I loved to choose, and see my path; but now
Lead thou me on. I loved the garish day, and, spite of fears,
Pride ruled my will: remember not past years.
So long thy power hath blest me, sure it still
Will lead me on,
O’er moor and fen, o’er crag and torrent, till
The night is gone,
And with the morn those angel faces smile,
Which I have loved long since, and lost a while.
Time Travel
Some of my favorite television shows and movies involve time travel. Whether it be Doc Brown and his shiny Delorean in Back to The Future, or The Doctor in his flying blue TARDIS… Time travel has always been a plot point that fascinates me. Captain Kirk used time travel to bring a pair of humpback whales into the 23rd century (Star Trek IV, one of the best star trek movies ever). And who could forget when Bill and Ted had their Excellent adventure?
I’ve always fantasized about stepping into the delorean or the TARDIS, and allowing myself to be whisked away to some far off place or time. Or maybe to allow myself to go back in time and confront my younger self in order to prevent some of the major mistakes I’ve made. I tend to think about my life and think back to all those moments in…
