Time Travel

Orthodox Trucker's avatarOrthodox Trucker

Some of my favorite television shows and movies involve time travel. Whether it be Doc Brown and his shiny Delorean in Back to The Future, or The Doctor in his flying blue TARDIS… Time travel has always been a plot point that fascinates me. Captain Kirk used time travel to bring a pair of humpback whales into the 23rd century (Star Trek IV, one of the best star trek movies ever). And who could forget when Bill and Ted had their Excellent adventure?

I’ve always fantasized about stepping into the delorean or the TARDIS, and allowing myself to be whisked away to some far off place or time. Or maybe to allow myself to go back in time and confront my younger self in order to prevent some of the major mistakes I’ve made. I tend to think about my life and think back to all those moments in…

Trusting in Jesus

Psalm 37 New International Version – UK

Psalm 37[a]

Of David.

Do not fret because of those who are evil
    or be envious of those who do wrong;
for like the grass they will soon wither,
    like green plants they will soon die away.

Trust in the Lord and do good;
    dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture.
Take delight in the Lord,
    and he will give you the desires of your heart.

Commit your way to the Lord;
    trust in him and he will do this:

he will make your righteous reward shine like the dawn,
    your vindication like the noonday sun.

Be still before the Lord
    and wait patiently for him;
do not fret when people succeed in their ways,
    when they carry out their wicked schemes.

Refrain from anger and turn from wrath;
    do not fret – it leads only to evil.
For those who are evil will be destroyed,
    but those who hope in the Lord will inherit the land.

‘Tis so sweet to trust in Jesus,
Just to take Him at His Word;
Just to rest upon His promise,
And to know, “Thus saith the Lord!”

Refrain:
Jesus, Jesus, how I trust Him!
How I’ve proved Him o’er and o’er;
Jesus, Jesus, precious Jesus!
Oh, for grace to trust Him more!

Oh, how sweet to trust in Jesus,
Just to trust His cleansing blood;
And in simple faith to plunge me
‘Neath the healing, cleansing flood!

Yes, ’tis sweet to trust in Jesus,
Just from sin and self to cease;
Just from Jesus simply taking
Life and rest, and joy and peace.

I’m so glad I learned to trust Thee,
Precious Jesus, Savior, Friend;
And I know that Thou art with me,
Wilt be with me to the end.

Quote of the Day: For Those who are Struggling

Don't Lose Hope's avatarDon't Lose Hope

This is for the ones who are struggling right now.

This is for the ones who have been having a rough day, or week, or year.

The ones who feel like this storm will never end.

Keep on fighting for YOU. Not for your friends, not for your family, but for YOU.

Keep fighting because deep down you hear a tiny voice that you were meant for far more than this sadness and pain you are feeling.

Keep fighting because the person you will be on the other side of all of this is cheering for you so much.

Keep fighting because you will get there.

And it will be worth it.” – Nikki Banas

Don’t give up.

You are stronger than you feel.

Breathe in deeply.

Let your mind and body rest.

Then, when you are grounded, you can stand and fight again.

You can do this.

Longing for God

John 4V13-14

Jesus answered and said to her, “Everyone who drinks of this water will thirst again; but whoever drinks of the water that I will give him shall never thirst; but the water that I will give him will become in him a well of water springing up to eternal life.”

This is the air I breathe
This is the air I breathe
Your holy presence
Living in me

This is my daily bread
This is my daily bread
Your very word
Spoken to me

And I… I’m desperate for you
And I… I’m lost without you

“I KNOW THE STORY!”

“I KNOW THE STORY!”

faithakatiki's avatarStreet Tribe

There are sounds we hear!
From distant lands in cold nights
in daylights and in our motherland
of cracks, bullets and raging raffles
of trembling feet consumed by the fear
yet daring to draw their swords
while we cross our arms in comfort

There are stories of men!
whose bravery knows no bound
who dared death with cloned armors
who did not die but offered their souls
who defile nature for a true course
while our eyes are shut in sleep
the widen their eyes to trace
the footprints of insecurity

I know stories of giants fallen like
toothless Irokos in simbisa, alike
I know of vibrant heart beats
reduced to weak pulse and to nothing
but with the song of allegiance on their lips
I know of screams, anguish, of grindings,
of pains of the family they left behind

I don’t know the color of this grief
but my…

1 Room Gingerbread House

550 Pinstripe lane

Bangor, ME

Enjoy a safe distance away from the bustling streets of downtown Bangor with the perfect home. This cozy studio-cottage has all the charm of Christmas. All year round. Located near the Blueberry School for Boys, this district is highly coveted for its snow removal program.

Pinstripe is a friendly neighborhood. Although the area is not currently on the Bangor power grid, this means little to the community. Many houses are connected by an old-fasioned “string and dixie” line. This fascinating form of antique communication involves only two cups and a long string to attach to other houses of your choice. Since most communication is nonverbal, many neighbors still prefer to nod or wave from their own property. Either style creates a socializing haven for those outside Bangor.

Speaking of property, this gingerbread house has one of the best lots in the…

Monday’s Verse, 1/4/21

Cindy Dawson's avatarReal Christian Women

“Do everything without complaining or arguing 15 so that you will be blameless and pure, children of God without any fault. But you are living with evil people all around you, who have lost their sense of what is right. Among those people you shine like lights in a dark world, 16 and you offer them the teaching that gives life. So I can be proud of you when Christ comes again. You will show that my work was not wasted—that I ran in the race and won.” Philippians 2:14-16 ERV

With Love,

Cindy
